彰化縣素來文風鼎盛，俗諺「一府二鹿三艋舺四寶斗」即用以譽稱當時台灣最繁華的四大都市，由於自古以來的繁榮，歷史文化底蘊豐厚、人文薈萃，孕育出相當多傑出藝術家，無論在文學、美術、音樂、戲曲、舞蹈等領域都有傑出的成就。為符合彰化地區的眾多藝文人口的需求，且為平衡南北彰化的文化發展，經過多方的努力，員林演藝廳於民國90年8月12日隆重落成啟用，基地面積1.261公頃，堪稱為本縣最大的文化建設，自此彰化縣藝文發展邁入新里程碑。
員林演藝廳設有表演廳(1,063席)、小劇場(252席)、戶外劇場、展覽室及表演藝術主題圖書室等空間，結合演出、展覽、圖書等功能，是一個多功能複合式藝術展演場所，為本縣推動藝術文化、倡導優質藝文風氣的據點。
員林演藝廳擁有專業的表演藝術空間，提供給國內外表演藝術團隊優質表演場地，並成為藝文交流平台，讓更多人能藉由員林演藝廳認識表演藝術以及國內外傑出演出團隊，員林演藝廳將持續營造場館特色以及強化藝文交流平台功能，並持續引領中部地區喜愛表演藝術的民眾，亦或從來沒有進過劇場的新朋友們體驗不同的藝術饗宴，創造劇場文化新風貌。
Performance Hall Overview
Yuanlin Performance Hall, inaugurated on August 12, 2001, is Changhua County’s most prestigious art performing space founded with the purpose of enhancing the quality and quantity of performing arts appreciation. Equipped with a performance hall, a small theater, an outdoor theater, an exhibition room, and a library, Yuanlin Performance Hall is a multifunctional art exhibition complex that offers a variety of performance venues, exhibition space, and library collections, and is moreover Changhua County’s cornerstone for the promotion of arts and culture and encouragement of artistic creation.
As a professional space for the performing arts, the Yuanlin Performance Hall provides domestic and international performing arts groups with a high-quality exhibition space and an art exchange platform, and offers audiences with the opportunity to learn more about performing arts as well as outstanding performance groups both domestic and foreign.
